about us
Trial of Fears is Honolulu’s premium, story-driven haunted attraction, rebuilt every season with a brand-new theme. Designed by an in-house team drawn from Waikiki Trolley’s top engineers, marketers, and creatives, the experience invites guests to do more than walk through—it challenges them to complete interactive trials in every room, raising the stakes and the adrenaline.
Community impact is woven into the experience. Each year we partner with a different nonprofit; in 2025, we’re supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to champion the best interests of children in Hawaiʻi’s foster care system. Your ticket powers both the thrill and the mission.
Caring through scaring
2025: CASA Hawai’i
Each season we choose one nonprofit to uplift. For 2025, we’re proud to support CASA Hawaiʻi.
We’re donating a portion of profits to CASA this year. Your ticket powers both the thrill and the mission. You can also donate directly at casahawaii.org
CASA trains community volunteers to advocate for children in Hawaiʻi’s foster care system. These court-appointed advocates meet with the child, gather facts, and submit independent reports to the judge to help secure safe, stable, permanent homes.
They monitor schooling, health, and services, and help maintain family and cultural connections. CASA advocacy helps courts make faster, better decisions for local keiki.
By choosing Trial of Fears this season, you’re also choosing CASA Hawaiʻi. Mahalo for helping turn fear into a force for good.
2024: The Family Promise of Hawai'i
Trial of Fears is about more than spine-tingling thrills. Community giving has been part of our foundation since day one, and each season we partner with a local nonprofit to turn excitement into impact.
In 2024, we celebrated Family Promise of Hawaiʻi and donated $7,000 in one season to support their work helping families experiencing homelessness with shelter, resources, and a path to lasting stability.
We care about our community as much as we care about a good scare, and your visit helps make a real difference. To contribute directly to Family Promise of Hawaiʻi, please donate here: here!
2021: Goodwill
Goodwill Hawaii and the Trial of Fears come together to strengthen the community and create opportunities for those who may experience employment obstacles. This is why majority of our costuming within the attraction is bought from Goodwill stores. Rather than outsourcing costumes from large corporations in the mainland, the Trial of Fears wanted to provide support to locals within our community.
Mission Statement:
"Goodwill Hawaii works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families in Hawaii by eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential and become self-sufficient through the power of work."- Goodwill Hawaii

Not Just a Scare—A Sensation
The Family Promise of Hawai'i and Trial of Fears
Our goal at Trial of Fears extends beyond providing spin-shivering thrills and remarkable haunted house experiences. Giving back to the community, has has been our foundation since day one. Though having frightfully good time is our main priority, we also think that energy may be used to create something meaningful and impactful. To make sure that our work is about more than just entertainment, each year we support a local non-profit organization that is committed to giving back to those in need.
